The Elder Scrolls Online might not be as highly regarded and widely played as other MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 14 are, but the success it has seen over the years has, nonetheless, been undeniable. Since its original launch nearly a decade ago, not only has it made significant improvements and expansions over the experience it originally released as, those improvements have also attracted a healthy and engaged playerbase.
On that front, in fact, the game recently hit another major milestone. During a recent presentation (via Wccftech) where new details were offered on the MMORPG’s upcoming expansion, Necrom, ZeniMax Online Studios confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online has now surpassed over 22 million players. That’s up from 21 million in July, which means the game has added an additional million players in less than a year.
The Elder Scrolls Online is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Necrom will launch for PC on June 5, and for consoles on June 20.
