Daedalic Entertainment’s oft-delayed The Lord of the Rings: Gollum arrives next month, having recently gone gold. A new trailer showcasing 4K gameplay with Nvidia’s RTX enabled is available, and now we know the hardware required to achieve it. Spoiler: It’s a lot.
First, every configuration will need Windows 10 or 11 and 45 GB of installation space on a solid-state drive. If you want to play on Ultra, the High Preset at 4K/60 FPS without ray-tracing, an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 8 GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 with DLSS Performance Setting is recommended.
For RT Ultra, with the Epic Preset and 4K/60 FPS, you will need the same CPUs (or better), 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 4080. And yes, DLSS Performance Setting is required. Nvidia DLSS 3 is advised for RTX 40 Series owners looking to play at +120 FPS.
Check out the hardware requirements below. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launches on May 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming later.
