The Lord of the Rings Gollum

Nacon and Daedalic Entertainment have announced (via IGN) that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum releases on May 25th. It will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, the Nintendo Switch version will release later this year.

Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the action-adventure title centers on Smeagol/Gollum, as he ventures through familiar locations in Middle-earth. There’s a greater focus on stealth and platforming instead of straight-up combat, especially since he’s not the hardiest of foes. Nevertheless, certain decisions allow players to go with Smeagol’s merciful way of doing things or Gollum’s brutality.

Not every choice is the “correct” one, so you’ll need to tread carefully. Also, while familiar characters like Gandalf the Grey and Shelob appear, you’ll meet original characters like Candle Man, a spy-master who resides in Mt. Doom. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
