The Outer Worlds Gameplay Walkthrough Features Tough Choices in Edgewater

Plenty of combat and conversations also feature in this new footage.

Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds has received heaps of new gameplay footage and details today, showcasing some of the quests and decisions that players can make. PlayStation Underground shared its walkthrough of a mission in Edgewater. Eventually, it leads to deciding whether you want the town to go without power or not.

As a first person shooter/RPG, we get to see plenty of action as well. Sneaking up behind enemies and taking them out with stealth is one option. You can also go in guns blazing and take advantage of your companions’ abilities to further incapacitate foes. So far, shooting and melee combat look solid, if a little too distinctly Fallout-esque.

Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing given how much Fallout: New Vegas players wanted a follow-up from Obsidian. Also, The Outer Worlds isn’t looking to be this massive game that takes hundreds of hours to complete – it can be finished in 15 to 40 hours with replay value being more important. The game is out on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC with Nintendo Switch release coming later. It will even be available on Xbox Game Pass.
