The Outer Worlds Has Surpassed 2 Million Units Shipped

The RPG has been quite the success story.

A lot of people were hungry for an old school RPG in the style of Fallout, and if you need any proof of that just look to The Outer Worlds. Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division seems to have hit a home run with the sci-fi game, and the sales are backing them up.

On their most recent financial results call, Take-Two Interactive (who is the parent company of publisher Private Division) confirmed it had surpassed two million units across the available platforms. That is sold in numbers to stores as well as digital sales. For new IP that’s a smaller scale release, that’s pretty impressive. It also bodes well for the upcoming DLC.

The Outer Worlds is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Switch version will also come sometime this year, but did suffer a delay until an undisclosed time, which you can read more about through here.
