The Witcher 3 – Player Discovers New Easter Egg That Needs You To Wait Seven In-Game Years

A new easter egg in The Witcher 3 that requires players to wait in-game for seven whole years has been unearthed by a YouTuber.

While CD Projekt RED is currently busy working on fixing Cyberpunk 2077 and developing the new Witcher game they recently announced, it seems their most popular title, The Witcher 3, is not yet done with providing surprises to the keen-eyed gamers. Seven years on from The Witcher 3’s launch, another new easter egg in the game has been discovered.

The easter egg, which has been discovered YouTuber xLetalis, involves a character called Vivienne who can be found in the Skellige Isles and is a part of one of the many interesting storylines in the region. Vivienne was afflicted with a curse, and should players let Geralt choose to save her at the cost of shortening her lifespan, you could potentially discover a new easter egg.

Unfortunately, the easter egg requires players to wait seven whole in-game years, since that is the total remaining lifespan Geralt gave Vivienne after helping her remove the curse. If you pass that much time in the game (for which fast-forwarding time will obviously be very helpful), you’ll find her dead in the Kael Troide harbour.

CD Projekt RED’s Phillip Weber, who was a quest designer on The Witcher 3, also took to Twitter that the easter egg is something that was intentionally put in the game, and not something that’s been accidentally discovered. It’s impressive to see developers go the extra mile to put in such small rewards for players who are keen-eyed for things like these.
