Far Cry 6 recently launched to mostly favorable reviews, and while many fans have completed the game’s lengthy campaign, some are yet to free Yara from antagonist Anton Castillo’s reign. Developer and publisher Ubisoft has been sending players detailed stats about kills and time played in emails, as reported by PC Gamer, and corroborated by legions of fans all across social media. Interestingly enough, however, the emails also take a rather unique approach to try and get players to jump back into the game in case they haven’t yet finished the campaign.
In the emails sent out to players, Anton Castillo’s character says, “I wanted to thank you for giving me free rein in Yara. Take it easy, and know that Yara is in capable hands. I wanted to thank you for giving me free rein in Yara. Take it easy, and know that Yara is in capable hands.”
While it’s pretty creative on Ubisoft’s part, some fans have expressed some anger at the publisher for its insistence on forcing players to play the game. One can only imagine what they’d do for a game that wasn’t single player-focused like Far Cry 6 is.
Speaking of which, a new rumor has surfaced that the next Far Cry game will have more online-oriented elements. Read more on that through here.
