Valheim is an Xbox Timed Exclusive for 6 Months, According to Microsoft Email

Recently released for Xbox and Game Pass, platform exclusivity for the survival crafting title will extend for a "limited time of six months."

Iron Gate’s Valheim recently released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass, after initially debuting for PC via Steam Early Access. While the developer says there are currently no plans to release for PlayStation or Nintendo Switch, the survival sandbox title seems to have a timed exclusivity window.

In a recent email from Microsoft that celebrated the game’s addition to Game Pass (via Twisted Voxel and verified by GameSpot), Xbox console exclusivity will “extend for a limited time of six months.” This doesn’t mean other platforms will receive it immediately after the exclusivity window ends. However, there’s at least the possibility of it happening sometime after timed exclusivity ends.

Stay tuned for an official announcement from the developer and Coffee Stain Publishing. Valheim is still in early access, with its next major update, Ashlands, currently in development.
