Anthem’s looking like it’s going to be a great looking game, and BioWare obviously seems to know it- they recently confirmed that in the final build of the game, they will prioritize resolution over frame rate, the latter of which will be at 30 FPS. But is there a possibility that after the game has launched, BioWare might think of adding a 60 FPS option to it for those who prefer better performance over resolution?
It certainly is. Recently, while speaking with Wccftech, BioWare’s Scylla Costa, producer on Anthem, said that the studio adding a 60 frames per second option to the shared world looter shooter’s Xbox One X and PS4 Pro versions is certainly a possibility, and it’s something that they might look into once the game has launched. “Yeah, in the future,” said Costa about the possibility. “We need to make sure many parts of the game are running smoothly. It can be done, yes, for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X in the future.”
It’s not uncommon to see games offering an option to players for playing with a higher frame rate count while lowering the resolution settings, so the hope remains that something similar will be added to Anthem as well. The game is currently in its final day of the VIP demo, which will be going live for everyone else on February 1.
Having recently gone gold, Anthem launches in full on February 22 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Meanwhile, some fans managed to stitch together the game’s entire world map- check it out here.
