Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Open Beta Seems to be Set for August 15 – Rumour

The upcoming first person shooter's Amazon listing seems to have let slip that its open beta will go live on August 15- though PlayStation players will get access before that.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s has received a couple of trailers and updates since its unveiling, but that rollout has largely been focused on the game’s single player campaign. Of course, a multiplayer reveal is yet to come, which means we don’t yet know when exactly its multiplayer beta will go live either. That info, however, seems to have leaked.

As spotted by @Mr_Rebs_ over on Twitter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Amazon listing seems to strongly suggest that its open beta will kick off on August 15. It’s worth pointing out, however, that as is the case every year, Activision has confirmed that PlayStation players will receive access to the beta before everyone else. With five days of early access to the beta confirmed for PlayStation, this leak, which is on the game’s Xbox listing, would suggest that PS4 and PS5 players will get the beta on August 10.

Leaks have claimed a multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming in August, which is likely where we’ll find out the exact dates for the beta.

Some details on the shooter’s multiplayer have been revealed already, such as some of its new modes, the new and improved Gunsmith system, brief details on Warzone 2.0planned post-launch support, the lack of destruction mechanics, and more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will cost $70 on all platforms.
