Dead Island 2 Re-Reveal Reportedly Set for Gamescom Opening Night Live – Rumor

Unless plans change following the recent Amazon leak, Deep Silver's long-in-development action RPG could finally re-emerge.

Eight years after its initial announcement, Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2 is set to be re-revealed. Insider Tom Henderson reported earlier this month that this would happen in Q4 2022, most likely at The Game Awards. However, he recently reported that the re-reveal will happen at Gamecom Opening Night Live.

That is unless the recent Amazon leak “changes things” (which Henderson doubts). He also revealed that Goat Simulator 3 went gold this week, so that’s seemingly on track for launch in November.

Dead Island 2 recently saw its release date (February 3rd, 2023), screenshots, and gameplay details leaked via Amazon. Releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC, it will feature six playable characters with fully customizable abilities and a new skill system. There will also be many weapons to choose from and “dozens” of different zombies with different mutations and attacks.

Perhaps a new gameplay trailer will be showcased at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The showcase airs at 11 AM PST on August 23rd with over 30 game reveals. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
