Following feedback from PvP players, Bungie has issued some server-side changes to Destiny 2’s various Crucible modes. The main point of contention is Heavy Ammo, which spawns early in the match and keeps spawning throughout. With these latest changes, the frequency of Heavy Ammo has been reduced.
In Control, for instance, Heavy Ammo spawns in at 45 seconds, as per usual, but will then respawn every 120 seconds as opposed to 60 seconds. Clash and Supremacy will have Heavy Ammo spawning in at 60 seconds (up from 15) and then again every 120 seconds (up from 60 seconds). The 3v3 Survival mode hasn’t changed but plans to adjust Heavy Ammo to spawn at 60 seconds and then again in 60 seconds are planned for later this month.
You can also expect the amount of Heavy Ammo to be reduced to better align Survival with Elimination and 6v6. Community manager Cozmo stated, “We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.”
