Dying Light 2’s troubled development has led to quite few delays for the game, but developer Techland has been making attempts to be more transparent in its communication about how the project is coming along of late. Even though a recent update was disappointing in how little it offered, the studio has been talking about various aspects of the game since then, from its engine to how much content it will have, how it’s being optimized for last-gen consoles, and more. Now, in the first Ask Me Anything video released in a series of similar videos, lead game designer Tymon Smektala answers questions sent in by fans, discussing various aspects of the upcoming game.
Smektala speaks about a number of things, providing additional details on details that have been previously discussed. The choice and consequence mechanics in the game are detailed, with Smektala explaining that they can present themselves in many forms, from what factions you align with to how decisions in quests affect each other to how players’ actions have an impact on the game’s world.
The world’s size and verticality are also discussed, including how larger it is than the previous game’s setting, while Smektala also discussed other things such as enemy variety, the dynamic aspects of the world (such as a day and night cycle), and more. Take a look at the full video below.
Dying Light 2 is due out for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, though it doesn’t yet have a specific release date.
