Forza Horizon 5 Has Already Surpassed 1 Million Players

Playground Games' open world racer hasn't officially launched yet, but those who got early access with the game's Premium Edition already stand over a million strong.

Forza Horizon 5 was pretty much guaranteed to be a critical and commercial success for Microsoft the moment it was first unveiled, and to no one’s surprise, it’s gotten off to an excellent start. Reviews for the game have been overwhelmingly positive across the board, and it currently stands as the highest-rated new game of 2021. Meanwhile, even on a commercial front, it looks set for success.

Forza Horizon 5 doesn’t officially launch until tomorrow, of course, but those who bought the game’s Premium Edition have had access to it since November 5 (while there’s always the chance that some retailers will have sent out copies to consumers before the launch as well). Based on the in-game Hall of Fame Leaderboard in the open world racer, it was recently reported that it had amassed over 800,000 players already thanks to the Premium Edition, and now, it seems to have crossed another landmark.

As pointed out over on Twitter by @Stallion83, Forza Horizon 5 has surpassed a million players already. That’s an excellent start no matter how you cut it, but it becomes even more important when you consider that the game in question isn’t even out yet, and will also be available for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers for free.

Forza Horizon 5 is launching for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “Forza Horizon 5 is the pinnacle of Playground Games’ open world racing series, and in turn, one of the best racers you’ll ever play.” You can read our full review through here.
