Marvel’s Avengers is going to be a fairly big game at launch, at least in terms of installation space. It will require 90 GB of installation space on PS4 according to recent reports. That being said, a sizable day one update will also be required, at least for physical edition owners.
In a new blog post, Crystal Dynamics states that this update will be “approximately” 18 GB in size. Along with the usual fixes and adjustments based on feedback from the beta, it will also add localization for different languages. Unfortunately, even if you’re not playing online, the update is mandatory.
The update will be included in the download for digital owners which is nice. Whether the game can be pre-loaded before launch or not is currently unknown. Servers will go live on September 1st to coincide with the Deluxe Edition’s launch with owners for the same receiving early access.
Marvel’s Avengers is out on September 4th worldwide for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. A new War Table stream will take place on September 1st with a new post-launch hero to be revealed so stay tuned for more details.
