Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Probably Won’t Be Announced At EA Play – Rumour

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my least favourite news on the Citadel.

EA have mentioned couple of times that they plan on releasing remasters of fan-favourite games in the coming months, and since they did that, rumours of the Mass Effect trilogy coming back have gone into hyperdrive. And though reports suggest that the Mass Effect Trilogy remaster will be releasing later this year, it seems an official announcement from EA might take a little longer than you’d expect.

Over on Twitter, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb – who’s been on the frontlines of Mass Effect remaster leaks for a while now – says that the trilogy isn’t likely to be announced at EA’s upcoming EA Play event. He says that though the remaster is definitely coming, there’s a “strong possibility” that it won’t be announced at the show next week. Of course, the wording of that tweet suggests that there is a chance that it does get announced, but it’d be best keep your hopes in check. Grubb has been a reliable source of information, after all.

EA Play will be streamed on June 18Star Wars: Squadrons was recently announced, and though an official reveal for that is coming on Monday, we can probably expect to hear more about the game at EA Play. The next Need for Speed – developed by Criterion – will also be revealed, while we can also expect to hear about the likes of Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21.
