NieR 10th Anniversary Streams Set for March 29th

Includes a theatrical orchestra performance, stage play and "forced talk show."

This year marks the 10th anniversary for NieR, a franchise brought about by the efforts of director Yoko Taro, Cavia and Square Enix. To celebrate the occasion, the publisher will be hosting three live streams on March 29th at 11:59 PM JST. The streams will run for over 10 hours in total.

Two of the streams are actually paid broadcasts that will require purchasing a net ticket. They are the “NieR: Theatrical Orchestra 12020″ Tokyo Performance and “Stage Play YoRHa Ver 1.3aa.” Everyone else can check out the “Forced Talk Show for the NieR‘s 10th Anniversary Orchestra Concert, Stage Play, and Talk Show Broadcast” which will air for free on Niconico. Expect weirdness, especially if Taro is present.

Nier Gestalt and Replicant launched in 2020 for Xbox 360 and PS3, serving as a spin-off to the Drakengard series. It would receive a sequel in PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata which released in 2017 for PS4 and PC before releasing in 2018 for Xbox One. NieR: Automata would become a critical and commercial success, selling over four million units worldwide. What could go down at the 10th anniversary celebration? Stay tuned in the coming weeks.
