Capcom has updated its list of platinum sellers, providing fresh sales figures for all of its titles that have sold over a million units to date, and unsurprisingly, the Resident Evil franchise has continued to exhibit a strong tail with sales across a number of its recent instalments.
Resident Evil 7 has hit a major milestone, standing at 12 million units sold as of March 31, having sold an additional 300,000 units during Q1 of this year. However, the gap between it and 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake has narrowed massively. It has now sold 11.9 million units to date, up 700,000 units from its previously-confirmed sales figures.
Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village now stands at 7.9 million units sold, up half a million from the end of last year, while Resident Evil 3’s 2020 remake has now sold 7 million units, which is up 600,000.
Resident Evil 4 Remake’s sales are listed as 3.7 million units as of March 31, though in April, Capcom announced that its sales had exceeded 4 million units.
Updated sales figures have also been provided for the Monster Hunter franchise- read more on that through here.
