Capcom has updated its Platinum Titles list, which tracks games that have sold over one million units. As of December 31st, 2022, it reveals that Resident Evil 2 (2019) has sold 11.2 million units thus far. It sold over 10 million units in July 2022, with more than one million additional units sold since September 30th, 2022.
Resident Evil Village is at 7.4 million units sold, while Resident Evil 3 (2020) has sold 6.4 million units in its lifetime. Resident Evil 7: biohazard is at 11.7 million units sold, which means an additional 700,000 units sold since its last milestone. Overall, the franchise is doing quite well, and that’s before Resident Evil 4 launches on March 24th.
Releasing on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC, it’s a remake of the 2005 classic survival horror. It sees Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2 investigating the Los Iluminados cult to rescue the president’s daughter.
