A bunch of new details on the upcoming Resident Evil 3 have dropped thanks to recent round of previews and hands-on impressions, and one thing that’s become clearer and clearer is that Jill’s escape from Raccoon City isn’t going to be a cakewalk (although that was already pretty clear)- not least because of Nemesis.
If, however, you’re looking to experience the game without its gruelling challenges, you will be presented with easier difficulty options. Like last year’s Resident Evil 2, there will also be an Assist Mode, and an article on the official PlayStation Blog has given some details on what that in particular will entail.
If you play the game with the Assist Mode on, you will, of course, be facing off against weaker enemies, while you will also find more ammo (and presumably other resources as well). On top of that, players will also get a powerful assault rifle in the assist mode, as well as regenerating health, all of which combined should make things a bit more easy-going. There’s no mention of an auto-aim (which RE2’s Assist Mode did have), but it’s probably safe to assume that that’ll be in there as well.
Resident Evil 3 is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, but there will be demo that’ll come out before then. In the meantime, you can read up on how the remake expands upon Jill’s character, or how it “dramatically reimagines” Raccoon City.
