Resident Evil 3 is out in about a month and a half from now, and Capcom have dropped a ton of new details on the game via a round of new hands-on impressions and previews for the game.  PlayStation Access, the official PlayStation UK YouTube channel, have uploaded such a video as well, and it’s got quite a bit to dig into. On top of a lot of new footage to gawk at, it also drops some new details.

For starters, Nemesis, who Capcom have been talking up as being even more relentless than last year’s Mr. X, looks terrifying. He looks fast and big, he’s got a tentacle attack that can pull you toward him from a pretty long distance, and if you try and run away from him, he’ll leap across a distance right in front of you to block off your route. Some other enemies returning from the original game with interesting redesigns have also been shown, including the Hunter Gamma and the Drain Deimos.

Meanwhile, some gameplay mechanics have also been detailed. Combining gunpowder to ammo doesn’t require a reloading tool the way it did in the original, which means you won’t have to sacrifice an inventory slot for it- it now works the way it did in the Resident Evil 2 remake. The dodge returns as well, and if you time it just right, you activate a short slow-motion window. There’s also environmental hazards that you can use to your advantage to deal damage to enemies in the vicinity by shooting them, such as electrical boxes or exploding barrels.

Resident Evil 3 is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3. A demo for the game has been confirmed by Capcom as well, though a release date for that hasn’t yet been revealed.
