Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways Announced, Out September 21

An expansion focused on Ada Wong is coming later this month, while The Mercenaries will also get a free update.

One of the best games of this year is getting a bunch of new content. Resident Evil 4’s stellar remake is set to receive its previously-announced VR Mode for PS VR2 this Winter, but before that, more substantial new content will also be coming.

As previous leaks have claimed, the original Resident Evil 4’s Ada Wong-focused campaign, Separate Ways, is indeed being remade for the remake as well. A new trailer showcased at the recent State of Play presentation showcased glimpses of the enigmatic lead’s mission, which runs alongside Leon’s own mission to rescue the President’s daughter.

Meanwhile, RE4’s The Mercenaries mode is also getting new content, which is something else that leaks have claimed, with Albert Wesker set to be added as a playable character. Both Separate Ways and The Mercenaries’ new content will launch on September 21, with the latter set to be a free update.

Resident Evil 4 is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and launches for the iPhone 15 Pro later this year. Read our review of the game through here.
