Sniper Elite 5’s Campaign is Roughly 20 Hours Long

"If you are a stealthy, cautious player who’s looking to complete some side missions, then I would say you are looking at over 20 hours to complete the main campaign," says head of design Jordan Woodward.

Sniper Elite 5 is launching imminently, and for fans of stealth games and of the series, it’s going to be one worth diving into. And once you dived in, it’s a game that’ll have more than enough going around to keep you occupied for some time. In fact, as developer Rebellion has confirmed, you can expect to get around 20 hours of gameplay out of its campaign alone.

Speaking in an interview with WccftechSniper Elite 5’s head of design Jordan Woodward reiterated that the game has eight separate missions set in large, sandbox maps, and those who engage with the game’s side missions and optional content can expect the main campaign to last 20 hours. 15-20 hours, incidentally, is the range we mentioned in our review as well.

“The Sniper Elite 5 Campaign features 8 expansive missions as well as an epilogue. Each of the main missions has a number of additional objectives, a kill list target, unlockable start points, and various collectibles as well as numerous routes and approaches,” Woodward said. “This results in a high level of replayability, especially when you can approach the mission from a new starting point.

“The length of time taken to finish the game varies so much, depending on whether you undertake the side missions and also your play style. If you are a stealthy, cautious player who’s looking to complete some side missions, then I would say you are looking at over 20 hours to complete the main campaign. There is then still plenty of room left for replaying missions to complete anything you missed on the first playthrough. Other players may just want to blast through the campaign with a more run and gun approach. There are a lot of variables.”

In addition to its solo campaign, Sniper Elite 5 also has co-op support, a wave-based co-op mode called Survival, a new Invasions mechanic, and a multiplayer suite, so doubtless, there’s quite a bit of content on offer here.

In our review of Sniper Elite 5, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Sniper Elite 5 is a top-notch stealth game. It might not have the flair of a AAA blockbuster, but thanks to its incredible stealth mechanics and its intricate and meticulously crafted levels, it is mighty impressive in the areas the count the most.” You can read our full review through here.
