Starfield Standalone Showcase is in the Works, Microsoft Confirms

Microsoft will show off Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and more later this month, while Starfield get its own dedicated showcase at a later date.

The wait for Starfield has been long and torturous, compounded by the fact that the game hasn’t launched as per schedule. The fact that significantly updates and showings for Bethesda’s upcoming space-faring RPG have been few and far between hasn’t helped matters either. That will be changing soon though, thankfully.

Later this month, Microsoft will be debuting the Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct to offer new updates on number of upcoming first party Xbox titles. Starfield, sadly, will not be part of that show’s lineup – though Microsoft has confirmed that another showcase dedicated to the game is in the works, so that it can get the on-screen time it warrants.

“To dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works,” Microsoft says.

When that showcase will arrive or how long it will be remains to be seen, but with Starfield set to launch in the first half of 2023, you’d imagine it shouldn’t be too long before we start getting more concrete details on the game.

Starfield is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
