While no official announcements have been made, these games indicate a new third-party-focused Nintendo Direct might be on the way.

It looks like a number of third-party games will start making their way to the Nintendo Switch 2. Ratings have been spotted for Switch 2 versions of Blood West, Hell Is Us and Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition. While the publishers in question—New Blood Interactive, Nacon and Capcom respectively—haven’t yet made any official announcements, the fact that these titles are getting rated for release would indicate that there might be a new third-party game-focused Nintendo Direct coming soon.

Devil May Cry 5 getting a Switch 2 release wouldn’t be too surprising, since the company has been bringing its games to Nintendo’s relatively new console for some time now. Its recent releases on the platform include Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. The upcoming Pragmata is also coming to the Switch 2. Its rating was spotted by Gematsu on the website for the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee. However, at the time of writing, the page seems to have been taken down. Devil May Cry 5 was originally released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One back in 2019, followed by a Special Edition release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2020. Capcom had also confirmed, as of May 2025, that Devil May Cry 5 had sold more than 10 million copies.

The ratings for Hell Is Us and Blood West were spotted on the website for the US-based Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Both titles have gotten a Mature 17+ rating. The page for Hell Is Us cites blood, drug references, strong language, suggestive themes and violence. The one for Blood West, on the other hand, cites blood and gore, partial nudity, use of alcohol and tobacco, and violence. While both games may have been rated for release, it is still unknown when they will actually come out on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Of the three titles, Hell Is Us is the most recent release, having come out just last year. In our review, we described it as part “Souls-like, mostly action-adventure” that melds the horrors of war with supernatural horrors thanks to an event known as the Calamity. We gave the launch version of the title a score of 7 out of 10 thanks to its realistic depiction of a civil war with uncomfortable sights and well-designed dungeons paired with fast-paced and responsive combat. Our main criticisms revolved around a lack of variety in enemy types, as well as a lack of interesting boss fights.

Blood West was released back in 2023, and melds in elements of the weird west sub-genre of horror with gameplay closer to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. We gave the title a score of 8 out of 10 in our review thanks to its atmosphere, core gameplay, and the variety offered by its progression systems. Our major criticisms revolved around its levels feeling too similar to each other, along with a steep difficulty curve that starts off much harder than it should have. Ultimately, we recommended it for fans of the stealth genre as well as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise.

That may not be the case for long, however, as Resident Evil 7: biohazard is closing in on 16 million sales since it launched in 2017.

Capcom’s latest financials don’t paint the best picture for Monster Hunter Wilds post-launch, but it’s not all bad news. Devil May Cry 5 reached nearly 11 million units sold with over 2.1 million copies in the first half of this fiscal year. Then there are the big four Resident Evil titles, which continue to sell well years after launch.

Resident Evil Village is worth pointing out first. It sold 12.872 million copies, with 1.566 million sold in the past two quarters. That puts it above the more recent Resident Evil 4 remake, but the latter is still performing well with 1.266 million sold in the same period for a lifetime total of nearly 11.2 million.

Of course, neither can measure up to 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake, the current highest-selling title in the series at 16.342 million units sold. However, Resident Evil 7: biohazard shouldn’t be ignored – it’s slowly creeping up towards 16 million units sold with almost 1.2 million sold in this fiscal year thus far.

The title is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next year in February alongside Resident Evil Village, so it could very well unseat Resident Evil 2 remake in the process.

Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline title, launches on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders go live later today, so expect further details on its price and various editions.

The Devil May Cry series has never really been among Capcom’s biggest sellers, but the franchise’s last release continues to sell significantly better than any of its predecessors.

Devil May Cry 5 has crossed 10 million units sold, Capcom has revealed via its updated Platinum Titles page, which lists up-to-date sales figures for all of the company’s games that have sold over a million units. Specifically, Devil May Cry 5 now stands at 10.1 million units sold as of March 31, with its original release having sold 9.1 million units to date (having sold an additional 200,000 units in the January-March quarter) and the remaining 1 million units coming from the Special Edition re-release.

After over 30 years at the company, the veteran director will "develop a new game in a new environment" from September onwards.

Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno, renowned for directing Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma, will leave Capcom by the end of August. In a new tweet, Itsuno thanks fans for their “long-term support of the games and characters I have been responsible for” and hopes “you will continue to support Capcom’s games and characters.”

What’s next for him? In September, Itsuno will begin “developing a new game in a new environment. I hope to create fun, beautiful games that are as memorable as, or even more memorable than, the ones I have created so far.” He asked fans to “stay tuned for my next creation!”

Itsuno didn’t specify his exact reason for leaving Capcom, where he’s spent over 30 years of his career. Originally brought on for the arcade division and eventually went on to co-direct Star Gladiator and Rival Schools: United by Fate. His most famous work is on the Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma franchises.

Devil May Cry 5 has sold 8.4 million units in its lifetime, while Dragon’s Dogma 2 arrived earlier this year and has sold three million units. Check out our review for the latter here. As for the future of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom hasn’t indicated whether it will receive any post-launch expansions or new content. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.

Capcom's acclaimed action title sold an additional 300,000 units over the course of the April-June quarter, the company has revealed.

Capcom has updated its Platinum Titles page, which means fresh sales figures for a number of its catalog titles. As you would expect, that has meant Resident Evil grabbing headlines once again, though other major Capcom titles have fared well as well. Devil May Cry 5, for instance, continues to enjoy steady sales.

The action title has, in fact, sold over 8.4 million units worldwide as of June 30, a little over five years on from its launch. As of earlier this year, the game stood at 8.1 million units sold, which means it has sold an additional 300,000 units over the course of the April-June quarter.

In our original review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “It might have small flaws, but Devil May Cry 5 is like a fine meal; it deserves to be savored, and if you do you’ll likely want to re-experience it. The fact you might see everything it has multiple times over in doing so is just a bonus.” Read the full review through here.

For instance, Devil May Cry 5 has now sold over 8 million units worldwide. To be more precise, as of March 31, the action title has sold 8.1 million units worldwide. Over the course of the January-March quarter, it sold an additional 300,000 units, so it has continued to enjoy solid moment with sales, five years on from launch.
The company sold 41.7 million units of software between April 2022 and March 2023, the most it has ever managed in a single fiscal year.

The last few years have been characterized by consistent growth and increasing success for Capcom, as the Japanese publisher reaps the benefits of the stellar lineup of games it has put out, and that success hit new heights in fiscal year 2022/23, which ran from April 2022 to March 2023.

In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Capcom revealed that it sold more copies of games in that period than it has ever managed in a single fiscal year, with a collective 41.7 million units sold across all platforms and all games. That’s up from 32.6 million units sold in the previous fiscal year.

Interestingly enough, the majority of these sales came from catalog titles rather than new releases, accounting for 29.3 million units (up from 24 million units in the previous fiscal year), with the likes of Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil Village, Devil May Cry 5, and more.

Of course, in addition to catalog titles, Capcom saw significant sales from new releases as well, with Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak contributing 5.45 million units (up from 5 million units earlier this year), and the recently-released Resident Evil 4 Remake contributing 3.75 million units (which had exceeded 4 million units as of early April).

Overall, Capcom’s operating income is up 18.4% from the previous fiscal year, while consolidated net sales are up 14.4%. Overall, the company has recorded its sixth consecutive year of record high profits at all levels, and its tenth consecutive year of operating income growth. That was followed promptly afterward by its stock hitting another all-time high (and not for the first time this year), as pointed out by VGC.

Capcom is expecting similar growth in the current fiscal year as well. Catalog titles are likely to continue selling strongly, while with Street Fighter 6 and Exoprimal, the company has couple of major new releases coming up soon as well. The former is expected to sell over 10 million units in its lifetime.

Back in 2021, Capcom said that it had delayed Pragmata to 2023, but there’s no mention of the new sci-fi IP in the company’s latest financials.

The acclaimed hack-and-slash title is out on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Amazon Luna. Its Special Edition is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 has achieved a new sales milestone since launching in March 2019. It sold over six million units worldwide, which is not bad considering it sold over five million units by April 2022.

As the long-awaited follow-up to Devil May Cry 4, Devil May Cry 5 sees Nero returning to the forefront, battling a mysterious new enemy in Red Grave City. Along with the Blue Rose and Red Queen, Nero has the Devil Breaker, a set of mechanical arms with different abilities. He can grapple foes, fire lasers, and much more.

It’s not long before Dante joins the party, wielding classic abilities and new weapons (including a wicked motorcycle). The two are joined by a brand new character, V, who can summon familiars to fight for him. Devil May Cry 5 is available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Amazon Luna. Its Special Edition launched for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in November 2022, adding a new playable character, Turbo Mode, and much more.

Capcom's 2019 action title Devil May Cry 5 has crossed another sales milestone, with over 5 million units sold worldwide.

Devil May Cry has always been one of Capcom’s more popular franchises, and while it hasn’t sold on the same level as something like Resident Evil or Monster Hunter, when it performs well, it’s numbers are nothing to scoff at. The series’ latest instalment, 2019’s Devil May Cry 5, was received with widespread praise upon launch and continues to be regarded highly, and of course, that’s been reflected in its commercial performance as well.

Capcom recently announced on Twitter via the official Devil May Cry Japanese page that Devil May Cry 5 has now sold over 5 million units worldwide. The action title first launched for previous-gen consoles and PC in 2019, with Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition releasing for new-gen consoles when they launched in November 2020. Capcom hasn’t said if the updated sales numbers for the game include both releases, presumably that is the case.

Devil May Cry 5 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Its director Hideaki Itsuno is working on a new unannounced title, though in January last year, he said that it was “a long way off” from being ready.
