It includes the base game and two paid DLC - The Lair of The Lost Lord and The Tales of a Timeless Tome - which add new content.

Bandai Namco’s Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is finally available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC (via the Microsoft Store). It’s also playable on Game Pass. Of course, this isn’t the base game, but The Prince’s Edition which includes all DLC. Check out the release trailer below.

Set centuries after Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (also on Game Pass), the sequel focuses on Evan Pettwhisker Tildrum, who was to ascend the throne of Ding Dong Dell. Unfortunately, after a sudden coup, he’s forced to flee and establish a new kingdom. He’s joined by Roland Crane, the president of an Earth nation suddenly transported to this world and other allies.

The Prince’s Edition includes two DLC – The Lair of the Lost Lord and The Tales of a Timeless Tome. Each contains new quests, equipment, items and dungeons to explore. For more details on the base game, check out our review here.

Whether it's real-time hack and slash action, looter shooters or big budget open world titles, these action RPGs are the creme of the crop.

Ever since the release of Dragon Slayer in 1984, the action RPG genre has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the decades. Various sub-genres and franchises have been born, each presenting their own compelling combat loops and gameplay systems. Let’s take a look at 30 of the best action RPGs of all time.

Dark Souls Remastered

More than a decade after its original release, it’s still impressive how much Dark Souls has influenced gaming. Dark Souls Remastered is a fairly straightforward enhanced edition, providing a 60 FPS frame rate, higher resolutions, and improved lighting and alpha effects among other minor improvements. But the core of the title, from the excellent pacing and pitch-perfect design, the madness of levels like Sen’s Fortress and Blighttown, and the wonder upon finding Anor Londo remain to this day, as does the solid combat and boss design.

When Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch launched for the Switch a couple years ago, most series fans knew that it was only a matter of time before its sequel came to Nintendo’s hybrid as well. The same was leaked thanks to a recent ESRB rating, and now, we have an official confirmation as well.

Publishing Bandai Namco has announced with a new trailer that Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Prince’s Edition will launch for the Nintendo Switch on September 17. In addition to the base game itself, it will also include both of the game’s expansions, The Lair of the Lost Lord and The Tale of a Timeless Tome.

Currently, Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is available for PS4 and PC. You can read our review of the game through here. Level-5 confirmed in 2019 that the series’ next instalment was in development, but there have been no updates on that since then.

The RPG recently received an ESRB rating for Nintendo's platform.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom might not have been the revelation that its predecessor was for so many people, but it was a solid game in its own right, delivering a charming role playing adventure and gorgeous visuals, among other things. And now, it seems like Level 5 might be bringing their action RPG to more players soon.

As spotted by Gematsu, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (or the ESRB) has recently handed an age rating to Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Prince’s Edition for the Nintendo Switch. The fact that it’s called “Prince’s Edition” lends further credence to it being real, and might be releasing as an enhanced edition of sorts. An announcement of the game coming to the Switch hasn’t been made, of course, but one would expect that to happen sooner rather than later.

This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, of course, and that’s not just because the Switch is so well suited to a game like this. The first Ni no Kuni also released for the Switch back in 2019.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, meanwhile, is currently available on PS4 and PC. Level 5 confirmed a couple of years ago that a new game in the series was in development, but there have been next to no updates on that front since then.

It seems like there’s quite a bit to look forward to in this new DLC.

Bandai Namco and Level 5’s Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom may have failed to live up to the original game, but it was still a decent enough game with its own fan base. And more to the point, in spite of the game’s perceived failures, Bandai Namco and Level 5 both promised post launch content in several batches for the game, which means we need to start seeing the new batches of DLC already.

Last month, The Tale of a Timeless Tome was announced as the second bit of DLC for the game. Now, we finally got to have our first look at it with the new trailer for it that was released today (and which you can see for yourself below). This trailer shows off new abilities, a new character, and a whole lot of gameplay footage.

It also shows off a brand new location (the Solosseum Slog), which it seems is meant to be a harder location for veterans who are looking for something harder than what Ni no Kuni 2 otherwise has to offer.

The game is out now on PS4 and PC.

Last year saw a number of tough bosses but these 13 took the cake.

There are boss fights and then there bosses. The foes listed here didn’t just a pose a challenge in 2018 – they threatened to wipe the floor with us at almost every turn. It’s one thing to have a frustrating encounter but pulling out all the stops and taking them down was a reward unto itself. Let’s take a look at the hardest boss fights of 2018.

Inner Agent 3 – Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion

Accessible only when all 80 challenges and the final event have been cleared in the Octo Expansion, Inner Agent 3 challenges you to “surpass the hero within”. Bombs galore, an infinite ink tank, the ability to fly and bombard you from above, splashdowns with huge impact radius – Inner Agent 3 can do it all and then some. And make no mistake – all of these attacks hurt.

The first DLC for Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, The Lair of the Lost Lord, has a release date. You can venture into the labyrinth and confront all kinds of evil on December 13th for PS4 and PC. The latest trailer highlights some of the hazards you’ll face in the labyrinth, including foes that are over Level 110.

There’s plenty more to look forward to though. There are new fighting styles and techniques to master (like Gizmo Supreme and Ding Dong Discipline). Over 80 new items, including some snazzy new weapons, can be collected. You can also expect a bevy of new quests, including tales from your party members’ pasts.

What lurks inside of the labyrinth though? How will it augment the already meaty endgame? We’ll find out when the DLC launches next week, but in the meantime, you can check out GamingBolt’s review of the base game here for more information.

Five years later, the PS4 has accumulated an impressive range of titles. Here are the top 30 to play.

Ever since it launched in 2013, the PlayStation 4 has been on a roll. It’s not only shipped over 86 million units but also houses some of the best exclusives out there with some of the best visuals. If you’re keen on hopping aborad the PS4 train, then take a look at 30 of its all-time best titles, from pretty good to outright great.

DriveClub

Evolution Studios’ DriveClub had a pretty rough start with server issues and glitches making a lot of the content inaccessible. Nevertheless, the developer stuck with it, improving the experience, adding more content and branching out into different ideas (like bikes). By now, DriveClub stands as one of the better racing experiences out there, even if it isn’t as hyper-realistic as, say, Gran Turismo Sport.

Also comes with additions to the game's battle system.

Ni no Kuni 2 has received some decent post launch support by Level 5 so far, with the Adventure Pack DLC that added plenty of new content (and was free, best of all), while recent updates such as the one that added harder difficulty settings have also been met with positive reception from fans. Now, though, the JRPG is getting its first really meaty piece of paid DLC.

The Lair of the Lost Lord adds new quests, a new dungeon, new weapons, and a lot more. The new dungeon is the most interesting part of the DLC- a randomized dungeon that, according to Level 5, is going to be quite challenging (even more so than Faraway Forest). Which is good, because a lack of challenge is one of the things Ni no Kuni 2 is criticized for most often. Players can access the new dungeon after Chapter 4 of the base game.

There’s also a new boss, while the DLC also promises a rematch with and old boss (but there’s no mention of who that boss will be). There will also be several new quests, which will delve into the backstory of the main characters, while the DLC also adds over 80 new weapons that players can equip and use. Another interesting addition is the Martial Method, which will add some things to the combat system- what those things are exactly, Level 5 haven’t spoken about yet, but they’ve promised additional details soon.

A release date for this DLC hasn’t yet been announced, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
