Ni no Kuni 2 has received some decent post launch support by Level 5 so far, with the Adventure Pack DLC that added plenty of new content (and was free, best of all), while recent updates such as the one that added harder difficulty settings have also been met with positive reception from fans. Now, though, the JRPG is getting its first really meaty piece of paid DLC.

The Lair of the Lost Lord adds new quests, a new dungeon, new weapons, and a lot more. The new dungeon is the most interesting part of the DLC- a randomized dungeon that, according to Level 5, is going to be quite challenging (even more so than Faraway Forest). Which is good, because a lack of challenge is one of the things Ni no Kuni 2 is criticized for most often. Players can access the new dungeon after Chapter 4 of the base game.

There’s also a new boss, while the DLC also promises a rematch with and old boss (but there’s no mention of who that boss will be). There will also be several new quests, which will delve into the backstory of the main characters, while the DLC also adds over 80 new weapons that players can equip and use. Another interesting addition is the Martial Method, which will add some things to the combat system- what those things are exactly, Level 5 haven’t spoken about yet, but they’ve promised additional details soon.

A release date for this DLC hasn’t yet been announced, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
