Superhot Team’s next big slow-mo shooting adventure is out very soon. Superhot: Mind Control Delete will be coming to Xbox One, PC and PS4 on July 16th, having been in Steam Early Access since December 2017. Check out the launch trailer below in all of its snazzy glory.

The objective of Superhot: Mind Control Delete is to provide a lot more content. It’s bigger and encompasses different “builds” and play styles. You can even unlock different skills, techniques and hacks to overcome foes. That being said, your enemies will be much more intelligent and dangerous this time around.

If you’ve purchased the original on any platform, then you’ll receive Superhot: Mind Control Delete for free. Switch players of the original can also receive a DRM-free version of the title for PC. There are currently no plans to bring the game to VR but given the success of the original game on the platform, it shouldn’t be entirely ruled out. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.

SuperHot Team's VR spin-off continues to pull in the numbers.

Unorthodox first person shooter SuperHot is a fairly niche title that’s managed to find a good degree of success. Even more intriguing however is the game’s VR success. Developer SuperHot Team confirmed in a vastly under-publicized trailer that the VR version had sold over two million copies since launch.

It’s interesting because as of April 2019, all versions managed to hit two million copies sold with the VR version accounting for 800,000 copies and over $2 million earned in just seven days. These latest figures would indicate that SuperHot VR is driving sales. Which is exceptional when you consider how virtual reality gaming still isn’t very “mainstream.”

Regardless, the market for VR games has been expanding in recent years. Valve Software’s Half-Life: Alyx, which launched in March to rave reviews, is a good example. Beat Saber has also done extremely well with one million copies sold as of March 2019. Time will tell how the VR player base grows though, especially with the next generation of consoles on the horizon.

Thank you!" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rdTw8L3em1Y?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen>

PlayStation VR numbers are still estimated but should be determined next year.

The popularity of virtual reality titles is a bit hard to gauge but that doesn’t mean certain developers aren’t doing well for themselves. Take Superhot VR, virtual reality version of Superhot Team’s innovative first person shooter. According to VR consultant Callum Underwood, who is also director of special projects at Superhot Team, the shooter has grossed over two million dollars in just seven days.

The sales account for all platforms that the game is available on. PlayStation VR numbers are still an estimate but Underwood noted that IndieBI analysts were “confident”. All in all, it’s a pretty strong showing for a title that released in December 2016.

It’s also good news for upcoming VR titles like Valve’s Half-Life: Alyx which launches in March 2020. The title is free for Valve Index owners and the hardware subsequently selling out following the game’s announcement. Could this signal the technology becoming even more popular, if not spurring more VR projects from Valve? Time will tell so stay tuned.

Nintendo dropped a ton of bombshells during their Indie World presentation today, but among them was one announcement that did not come as the biggest surprise. And that was the announcement that the time-bending widely beloved first person shooter SUPERHOT is coming to the Switch.

Leaked prematurely before the presentation went live, SUPERHOT is, as had been leaked, out for the Switch today- go and download it right now. How much does it cost, you ask? It’s priced at $24.99, and it’s “fully optimized” for the Switch. It runs at 60 frames per second, has a new adjustable gyroscopic aiming option, and also has an optional motion controls scheme.

SUPERHOT was among many notable new announcements at Indie World. Hotline Miami Collection was also shadow dropped for the Switch, while Ori and the Blind Forest was also announced (both of these were also leaked). Additionally, Risk of Rain 2 is also headed to the Switch.

The time-bending FPS might be on its way to Nintendo's handheld soon.

Nintendo will be streaming a presentation dedicated to upcoming indie games for the Switch later today, and there have already been plenty of rumours and speculation about what we could end up seeing get announced. One game that may have been leaked before its announcement is the unique, time-bending first person shooter, SUPERHOT.

Over on Twitter, user @itssimontime has discovered something interesting while digging around in the Switch eShop- recently uploaded update data for SUPERHOT on the Switch. Which would be completely fine, except for the fact that SUPERHOT isn’t even on the Switch- it getting an update on a system it hasn’t released for kind of messes with the laws of how time progresses. So maybe there’s an announcement coming in soon?

It’s worth noting that it was only last year that the game’s director spoke of a possible Switch version, mentioning that it was something that would work very well. The Switch is also a hotbed for successful indie titles, so SUPERHOT releasing for it would actually make a lot of sense.

We’ll find out one way or another not long from now, with the Nintendo Indie World presentation 6 AM PT, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for all the updates.

The Xbox Game Pass catalog is going to welcome a ton of new games very soon.

Every month, Microsoft continues to add great new titles to its already excellent Xbox Game Pass lineup, and soon, a great deal more will be joining the subscription service’s library. Taking to Twitter via the official Game Pass handle, Microsoft confirmed the looming new additions to the catalog.

We’ve already reported on two of these in recent days- Void Bastards is out on May 29, while Outer Wilds launches the day after that, and both will be joining the Game Pass catalog at launch. The incredible shooter Superhot joins the lineup on June 6, while Stoic Studio’s Banner Saga games will be doing so as well, with The Banner Saga going live tomorrow, May 23, and The Banner Saga 2 following suit on June 6.

Full Metal Furies will also be among the games coming to Game Pass on June 6, while a week before that, Dead by Daylight will be going live, on May 30. Finally there’s Metal Gear Survive, the Metal Gear game we never wanted- but hey, if it you want to give it a try for free, now’s your chance to do so. It joins Game Pass on May 23, which is tomorrow.

The VR version has outpaced the original in terms of revenue.

Superhot, the stylish first person shooter from the Superhot Team, made quite the impression when it released. Lauded for its mechanics, where time only moved as the player did, it went on to eventually receive a VR version. Though you’d think its player base would be more limited due to various hurdles with the hardware, it turns out that Superhot VR has done extremely well for itself.

Director of special projects Callum Underwood revealed on Twitter that Superhot VR had sold over 800,000 copies “across platforms.” Even more interesting is that it generated more revenue than the base game. When asked to make another Superhot title, Underwood responded, “One day.”

Superhot did receive a standalone expansion with Mind Control Delete in 2017. It put a roguelike twist on the gameplay with procedurally generated levels and offered different classes – or MINDS – with unique abilities. Superhot: Mind Control Delete is currently in Steam Early Access, but continues to receive updates.

Progress through dozens of challenges, unlock new characters and battle stronger enemies.

Just when you thought Superhot’s mind-bending influence over you was finished, Superhot Team have announced the Mind Control Delete expansion that will be available on December 7th for free to current owners. Check out the announcement trailer below with the official Steam page offering more information.

The standalone expansion for Superhot presents a rather interesting rogue-like approach to the previous game’s levels. This time around, players will confront a number of different challenges, growing in power and unlocking more secrets, abilities and playable characters. However, your foes will also grow in strength and become even smarter. What exactly is going on? Just like the base game, it’s hard to tell but darn if it doesn’t look cool.

Superhot originally released in 2016 for PC before heading to the Xbox One and PS4. It received strong critical praise at launch for its “time moves only when you do” mechanic, exciting gunplay and bizarre aesthetic.

"Reimagined and redesigned from the ground up for VR."

If you thought Superhot, the game where time only moves when you do was a mind bender before, wait until you play it in the new virtual reality version. That version is out right now in a standalone DLC addition that is “reimagined and redesigned from the ground up for VR,” according to a recent press release.

What the announcement didn’t include was how many levels and action sequences will be playable in total in the new VR Superhot. We do know there are as many as 26 different locations you can travel through in the first person shooter that gained so much notoriety because of its interesting game mechanic.

At the moment, the game is a timed exclusive on the Oculus and you’re going to need to get yourself the Oculus Touch controllers in order to play it. If you want to see whether Superhot VR is worth getting, you can get a taste by checking out our walkthrough.

A complete video walkthrough of SUPERHOT.

Superhot is such a great game. The independently developed first person shooter blends turn based strategy mechanics deftly and effortlessly into its gameplay, and creates a shooter that is truly like nothing else on the market, like nothing else that we have ever seen. That, plus a (rather disturbing) original, meta story makes it a really cool game to play through entirely.

Superhot is not necessarily the longest game ever made- but owing to its unique mechanics and nature, it can take you a while to figure it out and get through it all. That’s where we come in- this walkthrough for the game will help you progress through Superhot, and to do it in style.
