Outer Wilds

Mobius Digital’s Outer Wilds has been in development for a couple of years and recently became exclusive to the Epic Games Store for PC. Now, it finally has a release date. The Annapurna Interactive-published title will be out on May 30th for PC and Xbox One.

Not to be confused with Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, players adventure through a hand-crafted Solar System as an astronaut in this title. They’ll have 20 minutes to explore until the sun goes supernova. After that, you start again, striving to learn the mysteries of this system and your place in it.

It’s part roguelike in the sense that any information gained in a run can be used in subsequent playthroughs. Also, the Solar System does undergo changes – some planets will only be available at fixed times. For those on Xbox One, Outer Wilds will be available on Game Pass at launch. Not a bad deal if you wish to try it beforehand. Check out the launch trailer in the meantime.
