Risk of Rain 2

Can’t get enough of the chaotic rogue-lite action that is Hopoo Games’ Risk of Rain 2? Pretty soon you’ll be able to take it on the go – the shooter was recently announced for Nintendo Switch during the Indie World showcase. Only a Summer release window was provided but more information will be coming at Gearbox’s PAX West show on August 30th.

Released in March for PC and currently in Steam Early Access, Risk of Rain 2 is fully 3D and set in a third person perspective. Sales were pretty good – so good, in fact, that the developer was “absolutely floored” by the reception. The first major update, Scorched Acres, released in July with a new boss, Survivor, items and much more added to the game.

There’s more to come with additional Survivors, Skills 2.0, new stages and much in the works. The game is expected to fully launch in Spring 2020. Stay tuned for more details but in the meantime, check out our take on why Risk of Rain 2 does the looter shooter power fantasy right.
