It was a busy holiday season but Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 emerged on top in the latest UK sales charts. According to Gfk Chart-Track (via GamesIndustry.biz), the open world epic managed to close out the week ending December 29th in first place. This is despite game sales dropping by a third in the days following Christmas.
While Red Dead Redemption 2 reigned supreme, FIFA 19 came in at second place, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was in third place. Interestingly, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate jumped up to fourth place despite sales dropping by 29 percent. Sales for the fighter have been pretty good worldwide – it sold 5 million units in three days.
Battlefield 5 dropped to fifth place for the week, followed by Forza Horizon 4. Spyro Reignited Trilogy came in seventh place, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in eighth place and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in ninth. Spider-Man for the PS4 closed out the year in tenth, but still managed to emerge as the fastest selling PS4 exclusive in the UK.
