It’s been known for a while that this year’s Call of Duty game, developed by Infinity Ward, is going to be sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot, but though details on the game have been leaking with some regularity, Activision hasn’t officially said much about it. We’re not approaching the time for its official unveiling though, and the company is beginning to tease the same.
Over on Twitter, Activision and Infinity Ward recently shared the official logo for this year’s shooter, which we now know is officially going to be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2– no one could have seen that coming.
According to leaks, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will see the return of Task Force 141. The game is allegedly set in Columbia, with the story focused on conflict with drug cartels. On the multiplayer front, Modern Warfare 2 will also reportedly have PvPvE mode. Read more about that through here.
This year will also see the launch of sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone, which is also being developed by Infinity Ward. Both games are being built on new engine.
