God of War Ragnarok is right around the corner, but even the excitement surrounding its 2018 predecessor has yet to die, and the game continues to hit new sales milestone regularly. As announced by Sony, it recently hit another one of those.
As per Sony’s recent fiscal report, God of War (2018) has now sold over 23 million units worldwide since its original launch. The bulk of that it obviously likely thanks to sales coming on the PS4, but the game also launched for PC earlier this year, which undoubtedly would have added sizeable chunk of new sales to the total. As of August 2021, the title had sold over 19.5 million units, so it continues to move units at a steady pace.
Sony will, of course, be hoping that God of War Ragnarok replicates its predecessor’s sales. The sequel is expected to launch for PS5 and PS4 on November 9, with reviews expected to go live on November 3. Sony hasn’t yet officially confirmed PC version, but God of War (2018)’s PC port developer Jetpack Entertainment has said it continues to work on the franchise.
Sony has also announced updated shipment figures for the PS5, confirming that the console has shipped over 25 million units worldwide.
