Horizon Multiplayer Game – 10 Minutes of Footage Leaked, Show Early Development Gameplay

The leaked gameplay footage is allegedly from a very early alpha build of the game from 2020, and shows Fortnite-like stylized character models.

Guerrilla recently confirmed that, true to the rumours, it’s working on standalone co-op Horizon game, which is set to feature a new cast of characters and, in the words of a developer, a “unique stylized look”. Now, healthy chunk of early development gameplay footage from the multiplayer title has emerged, courtesy of leak on Reddit, which gives us our first glimpse of what that new aesthetic will look like.

The footage, according to the person who leaked it, is from a “very old” alpha build of the game, from 2020. It shows multiple playable characters with varied designs, with all of the characters sporting a stylized Fortnite-esque look. The rest of the game, however, looks largely similar to the mainline games- though again, that’s probably because the footage is from the very early stages of development.

Meanwhile, concept art for the game has also leaked, showcasing four characters (all of whom are featured in the footage as well) taking on a machine together. If the concept art is anything to go by, it won’t just be the playable characters, but also the machines and the environments that will feature a stylized look in the final game.

Guerrilla and Sony seemingly have multiple major Horizon projects in the works. In addition to PS VR2’s Horizon Call of the Mountain, PS5’s Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, and the co-op title, Horizon is also said to have an MMORPG in development at NCSoft, while leaks have claimed that Forbidden West is also coming to PC, and that Horizon Zero Dawn remaster is in the works.

Recently, UK-based Studio Gobo also confirmed that it is working alongside Guerrilla on the series, but did not specify what project it is working on. A Netflix Horizon series is also currently in development.
