Marvel’s Avengers – Captain Marvel Exists in the Game’s Universe, Developers Confirm

Crystal Dynamics haven't forgotten about the super-powered Avenger.

Marvel’s Avengers is launching with a core roster of the heroes that you’d expect to find in the game, from Iron Man to the Incredible Hulk, while recently, Square Enix also confirmed that Ms. Marvel would be in the game as well. The developers, though, will be adding even more characters to the game after its release, so the possibilities for new characters are enormous.

Questions about well-known Avengers and whether they exist in the game’s universe, and if we might get to see them (or play as them) are thus quite common. One Avenger that the developers have confirmed will be in the universe is Captain Marvel. Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, is supposed to be a huge fan of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the comics, with Captain Marvel being her absolute favourite, and you can expect to see that aspect of her character in the upcoming game as well.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, when asked if Captain Marvel exists in the game’s universe, Crystal Dynamics Narrative Designer Hannah McLeod said, “We’ll put it to you this way, Kamala can’t be a fan of someone who didn’t exist.”

“She still knows everything there is to know about the Avengers and yes, Captain Marvel is still her favorite,” McLeod added later. “That is something she and our players have in common. They love these heroes.”

Maybe we’ll get to play as her through DLC. Fingers crossed, I guess.

Marvel’s Avengers is out on May 15, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. You can get gameplay details on Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor through the links.
