Since confirming in December 2020 that it had started working on the next Mass Effect game, BioWare has shared tidbits of the sci-fi RPG in some shape or form every year on N7 Day – which falls on November 7 – with concept art being shared in 2021, a teaser the year after that, and another teaser last year.
With Dragon Age: The Veilguard having launched less than a week ago and another N7 Day right around the corner, there’s naturally plenty of excitement surrounding all things BioWare right now- though the developer has warned that it may not have quite as much to share on Mass Effect later this week as some may have hoped.
Taking to Twitter, BioWare stated that this year’s N7 Day is going to be a “quieter” one, thanks to the recent launch of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but that it will it will still have something “fun” to share on the day.
“We hope everyone is enjoying their time in Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” BioWare wrote. “It’s only a few days until N7 Day and this year will be quieter because of launch. Be sure to check back then for a little fun, though!”
The next Mass Effect is reportedly still several years away, though recent days have brought new bits of information on it nonetheless, with project director Michael Gamble having confirmed that it will retain the mature tone and photorealistic art style of the original trilogy, for those worried about a tonal shift similar to Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
The Veilguard’s creative director Jon Epler has also revealed that BioWare doesn’t intend to release DLC for the fantasy action RPG, with the studio now shifting its full focus to the development of the next Mass Effect.
