However, Animal Crossing: New Horizons remained on top with over 423,000 units sold.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 had a very strong release in Japan for its opening week, according to Famitsu. The remake sold a whopping 189,490 units at retail according to the publication’s estimated sales for March 30th to April 5th 2020. Estimates included the regular release and Z-rated version of the game.

Impressive as it is, this wasn’t enough to dethrone Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Despite launching several weeks ago, the Switch exclusive sold an estimated 423,367 units at retail for the week. This brings its lifetime total sales in Japan to 3,031,784 which is pretty crazy even without accounting for digital sales.

Check out the full software sales charts below. In terms of hardware, the Nintendo Switch sold about 155,000 units for the week across both the regular and Lite models. The PS4 managed roughly 19,000 units sold for the week with the base model and PS4 Pro accounted for. Full hardware sales can also be seen below.

Famitsu’s latest weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming releases are out. Final Fantasy 7 Remake topping these charts has become an inevitability of sorts in recent weeks, and that hasn’t changed here either, with the Square Enix RPG taking the pole position yet again. Dragon Quest 11 S has also consistently been finishing in second place, and so it has done this week again.

The next four positions, too, remain unchanged, with three of them being upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusives. Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon Sword and Shield are in the top 5, with Monster Hunter World: Iceborne following close behind in sixth place. Days Gone, meanwhile, has moved up from last week, taking the seventh spot as opposed to last week’s tenth position.

In its place this week is Ys 9: Monstrum Nox, while Code Vein and Bayonetta 3 at eighth and ninth positions round out the top 10.

You can check out the full top 10 below. All votes were cast by Famitsu readers between March 20 and March 27.

1. [PS4] Final Fantasy VII Remake – 1,023 votes
2. [NSW] Dragon Quest XI S – 649 votes
3. [NSW] Fire Emblem: Three Houses – 533 votes
4. [NSW] Animal Crossing – 519 votes
8. [PS4] Code Vein – 398 votes
9. [NSW] Bayonetta 3 – 374 votes

Famitsu has released its latest weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games, as voted by its readers, and in a turn of events that surprises literally no one, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is still on top of the list, as it was last week, and many other weeks before that. The following two positions remain unchanged as well, occupied by Devil May Cry 5 – which hadn’t launched while voting was taking place – and Super Robot Wars T respectively.

In the fourth and fifth positions, Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest 11 S have switched places, with the former now being in fifth place, and the latter occupying the fourth spot. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is still #6, but things shake up a bit after that. Bayonetta 3 has moved up in the rankings, coming in at #7, as has Shin Megami Tensei 5 in eighth place. Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is a new entrant in the top 10 at #9, while Code Vein retains its tenth position from last week.

You can check out the full top 10 below. All votes were cast between February 21 and February 27.

Famitsu has released its latest weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games, as voted by their readers. As has been the case for a few weeks running now, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is on top yet again. The entire top 5 is, in fact, unchanged from last week (which in turn was unchanged from the week before that).

Devil May Cry 5 is still in second place (what with the voting having taken place before its launch), with Super Robot Wars T, Animal Crossing, and Dragon Quest 11 S still occupying the remaining positions in the top 5. Fire Emblem: Three Houses follows behind at sixth place, while Bayonetta 3 has dropped down a bit to eighth position. Dead or Alive 6 is in seventh place (also not having launched when voting took place), while Shin Megami Tensei 5 and Code Vein at ninth and tenth places respectively round out the top 10.

You can check out the full top 10 below. All votes were cast between February 14 and February 20.

1. [PS4] Final Fantasy VII Remake – 949 votes
2. [PS4] Devil May Cry 5 – 602 votes
3. [PS4] Super Robot Wars T – 507 votes
4. [NSW] Animal Crossing – 500 votes
5. [NSW] Dragon Quest XI S – 448 votes
6. [NSW] Fire Emblem: Three Houses – 371 votes
9. [NSW] Shin Megami Tensei V – 311 votes
10. [PS4] Code Vein – 257 votes

With Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 both out now, the top spots of Famitsu’s weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games have become wide open. One permanent fixture that still remains at the top, however, is Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which retook the pole position last week, and remains on top this week as well.

The rest of the top three remains unchanged as well, with Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch and Devil May Cry 5 coming in at second and third places respectively. Super Robot Wars T, meanwhile, has pushed ahead, taking the fourth place, pushing Dragon Quest 11 S down to sixth position, with Catherine: Full Body occupying the fifth position between the two of them.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses at number 7, Shin Megami Tensei 5 at number 8, and Bayonetta 3 at number 9 represent upcoming Switch exclusives strongly, slightly changing around in positions over last week, while Dead or Alive 6 in tenth place rounds off the top 10.

You can check out the full top 10 below. All votes were cast by Famitsu readers between January 17 and January 23.

1. [PS4] Final Fantasy VII Remake – 806 votes
2. [NSW] Animal Crossing – 448 votes
3. [PS4] Devil May Cry 5 – 438 votes
4. [PS4] Super Robot Wars T – 403 votes
5. [PS4] Catherine: Full Body – 389 votes
6. [NSW] Dragon Quest XI S – 374 votes
7. [NSW] Fire Emblem: Three Houses – 307 votes
8. [NSW] Shin Megami Tensei V – 305 votes
9. [NSW] Bayonetta 3 – 280 votes
10. [PS4] Dead or Alive 6 – 278 votes

Famitsu has released the charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games, as decided by votes cast by its readers- with Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 (both of which have been dominating the charts for months on end) now out, the top 10 is looking much different than it has in a long time. One thing that doesn’t look different is that Final Fantasy 7 Remake has taken the pole position in the charts.

In second place is Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch, moving up three places from last week thanks to the aforementioned vacuum, while Devil May Cry 5 also benefits similarly, taking the third spot. Dragon Quest 11 S, the Nintendo Switch version of the game, takes the fourth spot, while Super Robot Wars T comes in at number 5.

Majority of the next 5 entries are Nintendo Switch exclusives- with Bayonetta 3, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Shin Megami Tensei 5 ranking seventh, eighth, and ninth respectively. Catherine: Full Body in sixth place and Ushiro in tenth place round off the charts.

You can check out the full top 10 below. All votes were cast between January 10 and January 16.

1. [PS4] Final Fantasy VII Remake – 647 votes
2. [NSW] Animal Crossing – 384 votes
3. [PS4] Devil May Cry 5 – 378 votes
4. [NSW] Dragon Quest XI S – 323 votes
5. [PS4] Super Robot Wars T – 294 votes
6. [PS4] Catherine: Full Body – 273 votes
7. [NSW] Bayonetta 3 – 260 votes
8. [NSW] Fire Emblem: Three Houses – 231 votes
9. [NSW] Shin Megami Tensei V – 204 votes
10. [NSW] Ushiro – 196 votes

Famitsu’s latest weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games – as voted by their readers – are in, and the top 5 remains completely unchanged from what we saw last week. Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 are the top ranking games respectively, as has been the case for a number of weeks running now (even months, in the case of the top 2). Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5 and Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch are still in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Super Robot Wars T follows close behind, trailing Animal Crossing by just nine votes, with Ace Combat 7 following in seventh place. Dead or Alive 6, which recently got delayed, takes up the eighth position. The upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Shin Megami Tensei 5 is in ninth place, while Catherine: Full Body for the PS4 rounds off the top 10.

You can check out the full 10 10 below, along with the number of votes each game received from Famitsu’s readers. All votes were cast between December 20 and December 25.

1. [PS4] Kingdom Hearts III – 1,023 votes
2. [PS4] Final Fantasy VII Remake – 872 votes
3. [PS4] Resident Evil 2 – 792 votes
4. [PS4] Devil May Cry 5 – 456 votes
5. [NSW] Animal Crossing – 416 votes
6. [PS4] Super Robot Wars T – 405 votes
7. [PS4] Ace Combat 7 – 323 votes
8. [PS4] Dead or Alive 6 – 305 votes
9. [NSW] Shin Megami Tensei V – 301 votes
10. [PS4] Catherine: Full Body – 298 votes
