Dead or Alive 6

Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive 6 was slated to release on February 15th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. However, the developer has since announced a delay to March 1st. The additional time will be used to polish the game’s balance, gameplay, and “expressivity”.

In a statement on the game’s official website, producer/director Yohei Shimbori said, “The title’s development is already near complete; however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best Dead or Alive gaming experience. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of Dead or Alive 6.”

Delaying Dead or Alive 6 by a few weeks isn’t the worst decision in the world. February is absolutely jam-packed as it is, with releases like Crackdown 3, Anthem, Far Cry: New Dawnand Metro Exodus. A release in March will afford some more breathing room for Team Ninja and Koei-Tecmo.

Dead or Alive 6 actually brings a number of new and interesting mechanics to the series. Along with vastly improved visuals and costume customization, players can utilize Fatal Rush for executing combos with a single button. Then there’s Break Gauge, which delivers a Critical Blow at the end of a Fatal Rush when the gauge is full. You can also expect 25 playable fighters in total, with new characters like NiCO and Diego added in as well.
