Get a look at how Ninja Theory's multiplayer title plays.

When Ninja Theory’s latest game, Bleeding Edge, was revealed at E3, it’s probably fair to say it’s not exactly what many expected. Though the game had apparently been in development for a good while, the developer had made their name with single player action games like Hellblade and DmC: Devil May Cry. Well, it may not be what you expected, but now we get a look at the frantic gameplay.

Billed as a 4v4 team shooter, the game was playable at Gamecom. Though no official clean footage was released, streamer Arekkz got a chance to film and commentate a full match played by the game’s Character Artist off screen. They start by playing Gizmo, who is a more aggressive action based character who uses a mini merch special, then switch to a more support based character named Kulev, who specializes in evading and can passively heal allies during the fight.

Bleeding Edge is slated to release for Xbox One and PC, though no time frame has been set. While the game is, as of now, only multiplayer you can read through here for some potential ideas the developer has for single player content.

Sam's mission to reconnect the United Cities of America is laid bare.

Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding looked pretty gorgeous in its Gamescom 2019 showing, even if the content – from the character profiles of Mama and Deadman to the reveal of the so-called “Ludens Fan” – was a little weird. An additional trailer called “Briefing” was shown behind closed doors at the PlayStation Booth, however. For those curious, an off-screen recording has leaked.

Amelie and Die Hardman are present in this trailer with the latter describing Sam’s mission to reconnect the United Cities of America. This will be done by traveling to various Chiral Network terminals and bringing them back into the Chiral Web. Though there wasn’t too much action, it does offer a clearer idea of the game’s premise. More details on the trailer can be seen here.

Interestingly, Sam doesn’t want to take up the mission or get involved with either entity or “anyone else, ever again”. If you really want to see a better quality version of the trailer, don’t worry – it’ll be showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2019 in September. Meanwhile, Death Stranding is out on November 8th for PS4.

The cyberpunk themed shooter comes at you quick.

While it’s impossible at this point for anything to take the thunder away from Cyberpunk 2077, it’s safe to say, as the cyberpunk-themed title to look toward, there is a pretty slick new game based on the genre in town with Ghostrunner. The game was announced earlier at Gamescom this year seemingly out of nowhere, and now it’s getting a gameplay reveal that’s coming at you quick.

You can see the footage below. You can see that the name of the game isn’t just something cool sounding, it’s being pretty literal as you must speed through a level, chopping up anyone who gets in your way, which can get pretty bloody in brutal one-shot kills. Wallrunning, jumping and just a general feel of speed defines the game, where you must climb the tower of the last remaining shelter for humanity as secrets are unveiled.

Ghostrunner will release sometime in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

A new comprehensive video details the RPGs many elements.

The newest RPG from Spiders, GreedFall, is coming at us fast, and it’s got some pretty ambitious ideas about what it wants to accomplish when it gets here. Whether or not it will remains to be seen, but until then, it’s looking pretty good. A new video also shows a lot of the meat on the bone, so to speak, on the various elements of the game.

In a video with IGN, we get to see some of the aspects of the games with the developers taking some time to break down things. In it we see the companion system, and how invaluable it can be to survival. Alongside that comes the Faction system, and your companions loyalty to various factions with conflicting goals and mindsets, something you’ll have to constantly navigate as you progress and gather more companions. With that we see some more in-game footage and some more elaboration on some RPG mechanics. Check it out below.

GreedFall will release September 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For a look at how long the game’s campaign will run you and multiple endings, take a look through here.

It doesn't look pretty, but it's there.

While the game leaked a good while before it was officially announced, it was still kind of a surprise when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was shown to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, the full GOTY version of the game none-the-less. Today we get our first look at the game running in handheld mode, and well, it looks about like you expect it to.

The video is roughly 25 minutes long, and it’s really the first time we’ve seen the game running in portable mode. It’s not particularly pretty, and it takes a very noticeable hit in the visual department. Still, when you consider the hardware gap as well as the impressiveness of the game on a technological level, it’s still something to behold. It’s also the only truly viable way to play the game on the go to, after all, so there is that.

The Witcher 3 for Nintendo Switch will launch on October 15th. You can see the full video below.

Those craving some mecha action are in for a treat next month when Daemon X Machina hits the Switch. The game will feature plenty of hard metal behemoths slamming into each other (or shooting each other, lots of options here). Today we got some great new footage of the game, some on the shaky side and more that’s silky smooth.

The first video is some off screen footage from Gamescom 2019. It is a bit difficult to see, but you get to check out some character interaction as well as a few shootouts. The other video is from Famitsu, and is a little on the smoother side, and is all about the action with several big fights, concluding with some tense out of robot action. Check out both below.

Daemon X Machina will release on September 13th for the Nintendo Switch. You can check out all the pilot and mech designs the game will have in store for you through here.

Only the legendary Hideo Kojima can show off almost a full 10 minutes of gameplay footage for a game, and we are still clueless as to what the hell you do in the game. It is what it is from the master of the tease, and his buddy is out hyping up the game now as Geoff Keighley is saying that we aren’t ready. We just aren’t ready.

In a lengthy IGN interivew, Keighley said that he’s seen some things we aren’t going to believe. He says that a lot of what Kojima Productions has in store has just been a taste and we’re going to be blown away with the things we’ll be shown as time goes on. It’s so crazy, he doesn’t even understand it apparently.

“But what I will say I think about the game is that what he’s doing with the online aspects of it, I think people aren’t quite fully ready for what he’s sort of doing. And if you remember, even in Opening Night Live, we talked a lot about how people like, you know, everyone can like pee on the mushroom, and it’ll grow bigger. And it’s like, I mean, it’s silly and funny, but you got to take that concept and think about how that applies to everything you do in the game, and this sort of connected world and connecting people. People are like, oh, that’s so silly, crazy Kojima. But think about that, how that applies to everything you’re doing in Death Stranding. Yeah, and what’s going to happen? And again, I think he’s building something that is, it’s not just a single player game is sort of these online components. I think he’ll eventually talk about more of that. But I’m really excited for people to kind of realize what’s in Death Stranding. And again, I don’t even fully understand it. Because there’s so much to it, but you know, he’s operating in such a different level with like, rocking the baby and all this other crazy. Like, we’ll see.”

Keighley has been known to have a pretty close relationship with the developer, so it’s not hard to imagine him playing the hype man for his friend, but even though I like to poke fun at the game’s weird marketing, whatever Hideo Kojima has come up with in Death Stranding will at least be interesting, if nothing else, when it releases November 8th exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Hardsuit Labs’ Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be taking many cues from the previous game especially with the amount of replay value available. That’s because you can choose different Disciplines and clans, mixing and matching to achieve various builds (to say nothing of the different endings). The question is: How long will a single playthrough take?

Speaking to PCGamesN at Gamescom, product manager Florian Schwarzer said that it would take about 30 hours to run through the campaign at a comfortable pace. But if you’re a completionist, then that number could potentially go up. “At the beginning, we expect that quite a few people will not be playing this only once, but instead play it in one configuration and then choose different backgrounds, a different plan, and go right back in.”

“For one playthrough, right now we’re assuming about a 30-hour playthrough on the first go. That’s for somebody who isn’t an obsessive completionist, but who likes to have seen the world.” This seems to indicate that there will be plenty of secrets, side content and additional objectives to complete, to say nothing of trying out each Discipline and clan available. Either way, replay value seems to be the main hook and we’re just fine with that.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is out in March 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out roughly 29 minutes of new gameplay footage below courtesy of IGN.

The best options are to either run or fight the cops and then run, as per producer Richard Borzymowski.

The law is a tenuous concept in CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. They’re at the beck and call of megacorporations and think nothing of taking a bribe to hunt you down if you mess with a company. It was also noted that killing civilians in town with witnesses around will result in others getting involved.

However, USGamer spoke to producer Richard Borzymowski and learned exactly how the different districts also factor in. Essentially, there are districts like City Center and Japantown which are home to the rich. Pacifica, on the other hand, is full of poorer folk and more ripe for committing crimes.

“In Pacifica (one of the poorer areas) you could probably shoot someone, and if nobody would see then nobody would care. If you would do that in the City Center you would probably get some law enforcement. Because those areas are way more patrolled. The crowds will act and dress differently. You might hear more languages, for example Japanese might be a prominent language, because the Japanese are considered upper class in the universe.”

Borzymowski also said that you can fight the law but it’s ultimately a losing battle. “Your options are to run away, fight them and then run away, or fight them, fight them, fight them, and then die.” It sounds like the police won’t stop coming after you until you’re dead, similar to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16th 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out some of the new ray-traced screenshots revealed at Gamescom. Hopefully we’ll be seeing live gameplay demos this week as well.

When Microsoft hyped up Inside Xbox at Gamescom, it promised some “exciting” news for Age of Empires. Naturally, we assumed that Relic Entertainment’s Age of Empires 4 – announced in 2017 – would finally be revealed. We didn’t get that but the publisher has finally committed to a firm gameplay reveal date.

Speaking to GameStar at Gamescom, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg said that Age of Empires 4 would be revealed on November 14th. This is the same date that X019, Microsoft’s biggest iteration of the event till date, will take. What exactly will be showcased remains to be seen but it’s good news all the same.

It also marks the day that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will release. The remaster will include the base game with all of its expansions and release on Steam, the Windows Store and Xbox Game Pass for PC. In the meantime, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition can be played on Steam and Xbox Game Pass now.
