Built on Unreal Engine – which is a first for the Persona franchise – Persona 3 Reload’s trailer showcases updated visuals and offers glimpses of various gameplay elements, including combat, exploration, several locations, and plenty of the characters in its cast, all of which seems to have received noticeable upgrades. Persona 3 Reload is due out some time in early 2024, and will be available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. The game will also be available via Game Pass on the day of release- clearly, that budding relationship between Atlus and Microsoft is continuing to flourish.

True to recent leaks, the remake is called Persona 3 Reload. The announce trailer showcases glimpses of the updated cutscenes, improved visuals, some of the combat and the dungeons, a few side activities, and more. The Xbox marketing also makes it abundantly clear that the game will be officially announced at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11.

As per the trailer, Persona 3 Reload is due out sometime in early 2024 and is being built using Unreal Engine (which is unusual for Persona), with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC mentioned as the platforms it will be available for. It will also be available via Game Pass at launch. Presumably, the game will launch for PS5 and PS4 as well, though whether Switch players get access too remains to be seen.

The reveal is reportedly at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, with Xbox and PlayStation as its platforms. They also claim it’s a full remake but not “definitive” (which could mean some cut content). Other rumored titles like Persona 5 T and Persona 6 are also allegedly being announced this year.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson verified separately that the Persona 3 remake is in the works but “hasn’t been able to pinpoint when the game will be revealed.” Much of this information lines up with what other insiders like NateTheHate have claimed, and Atlus itself has also hyped “exciting happenings” for July 3rd at Anime Expo 2023 (even teasing that, “By the time you’re reading this, the cat is out of the bag”).

Time will tell, but a domain reportedly linked to the remake has seen some activity lately. Stay tuned in the meantime for more details.

It’s been previously claimed that the developer is set to announce a remake of Persona 3 at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, while recently, it was claimed that a Persona 5 spinoff – or P5T – will also be announced soon. A domain for the latter has also been registered and updated, following similar pre-announcement trends for previous Persona games likes Persona Q2, Persona 5 Royal, and more.

Now, it seems the same has happened for the Persona 3 remake. As reported by Persona Central, the domain p3re.jp, which was registered by Atlus in March, saw an updated earlier today. The domain has been moved from Onamae to Amazon nameservers, with the latter typically having served as the company’s nameservers in the past.

Earlier this year, early internal development footage of the Persona 3 remake was spotted in a leak. Meanwhile, Atlus also recently seemed to tease “exciting” announcements that are set to happen before the developer’s panels at Anime Expo early next month.

Whether both aforementioned Persona titles are set to be announced in the coming days remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more updates.

Evidence of that has seemingly emerged courtesy of the upcoming Anime Expo, which is set for early next month and will see Atlus participating with a couple of special panels- and as spotted by Persona Central, the descriptions for some of those panels on the official Anime Expo website seems to suggest that the company will be making some announcements before the event takes place.

One panel’s description reads, “Join ATLUS West and be the first to know about all the exciting happenings! By the time you’re reading this, the cat is out of the bag…” The description could potentially be indicating a reveal that will have been made by the time this panel happens.

Another panel’s description also seems to be pointing at “exciting” things in the near future for the Japanese developer. It reads, “Get ready for an evening of excitement with ATLUS West as we bring you our latest and greatest! Head over to the mobile app for updated details on panel topics and our special guests.”

Recent leaks have claimed that a Persona 3 remake is in development, and that could be announced at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11. Purported early development footage of the remake was also leaked earlier this year.

Meanwhile, it’s also been claimed that in addition to a Persona 3 remake, Atlus is also working on Persona 6, which is allegedly targeting a late 2024 launch, as well as a new Persona 5 spinoff. Whether or not any of these gets officially announced in the coming days remains to be seen.

Speaking during his recent podcast, insider NateTheHate stated that a remake of Persona 3 is set to launch later this year, and that unlike Persona 6 – which is likely to be a PS5 exclusive when it allegedly launches late next year – it will be a multiplatform title. In fact, the remake is likely to be announced at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase next month, with NateTheHate mentioning the rumours and later adding that though it probably won’t be unveiled at the imminent PlayStation Showcase, we will be seeing it “a little later this Summer”.

Interestingly, the insider has also claimed that a Persona 5 spinoff is also in development, and that it’s targeting a 2024 launch. Whether this is the Goro Akechi spinoff we’ve been hearing about since last year or something else entirely remains to be seen.

Earlier this year, it was claimed in leaks that both Persona 3 and Persona 6 were both quite far along in development, and that both games were expected to be revealed this Summer. Not long after that, early internal development footage of the Persona 3 remake also leaked.

As per ResetEra user Im A Hero Too – who has previously leaked information related to Persona and has been vetted by ResetEra moderators – both Persona 6 and a Persona 3 remake are in development at Atlus, with both allegedly “pretty far along” in development. In fact, it seems both games are targeting a Summer reveal, with the leaker also claiming that both games were supposed to have been revealed already, if Atlus hadn’t internally changed those plans.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first we’ve heard of a Persona 3 remake, with previous leaks also have claimed that the project is in the works. As per Im A Hero Too, the remake has “so many updates” that it may as well be “a new game for many”.

Meanwhile, where Persona 6 is concerned, the leaker says that, in spite of recent multiplatform Persona releases, it could still end up being a PlayStation exclusive (which has been claimed in previous leaks as well)- though it seems like there isn’t complete clarity on that particular front, so there’s no guarantees.

Of course, as is the case with any such leak, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt for now- though if Atlus does indeed planning on revealing the two games this Summer, it shouldn’t be long before more details emerged. Stay tuned for all of those updates.

Over on ResetEra, leaker lolilolailo has claimed that a Persona 3 remake is in development at Atlus, in addition to the aforementioned upcoming Persona 3 Portable port. The leaker has in the past accurately leaked Atlus releases, including the upcoming P4G and P3P ports.

As per them, the Persona 3 remake will be similar to Persona 5 in terms of both, its graphics and its quality-of-life features, while interestingly, it also seems like it will be making changes to content that many might not be happy about. Presumably, this refers to content from Persona 3 FES being left out.

In the past, lolilolailo has also said that the Persona 3 remake will also have a subtitle, and that the “R” in P3R actually stands for something.

Recently, Atlus said that it has several new announcements planned for 2023, but whether a Persona 3 remake ends up being one of them remains to be seen. Fans have certainly been vocal in their desire to see a Persona 3 remake- though of course, many will also be wondering how far away Persona 6 is.

An announcement could be forthcoming, though. Gematsu recently discovered a rating for the PC version in South Korea by the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC). The deliberation date for the rating is September 2nd, 2022, which is close to Tokyo Game Show. Atlus has already confirmed its appearance at the show, along with Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal.

Stay tuned for more details in the meantime. In the meantime, Persona 5 Royal releases on October 21st for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Xbox Store. Persona 4 Golden is also coming to PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Xbox Store (with the Steam version already available). All three titles will also be available on Game Pass.

This was followed by Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment which also had 78.9 percent of the votes. Revelations: Persona was in third place with 76.3 percent of votes followed by Persona 4 Golden at 74.8 percent and the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series at 72.1 percent.

It’s not too surprising to see Persona 3 at the top, especially considering it kicked off the more stylish, contemporary style that the sequels have followed to date. Persona 2 is interesting since it’s not brought up as often, but it’s still pretty beloved among fans (and critically acclaimed). Of course, whether Atlus follows through and remakes these titles remains to be seen.

In the meantime, it’s bringing Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC platforms along with Game Pass.
