Developed by the team behind The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, Behemoth focuses on hand-to-hand combat with an emphasis on physics. Players can wield swords and axes, use a grappling hook to pull down bridges, discover equipment and more. The grappling hook is also ideal in combat for pulling enemies and sending them off bridges or retrieving weapons.

You can also execute brutal finishers and shove opponents into hazardous obstacles. Other survivors oppose you at every turn, but they’re far from the biggest threat, as massive bosses inhabit the world and must be defeated. The undead will be as relentless as ever, with larger amounts of Walkers and tougher human opponents. You’ll have new weapons like the sawed-off shotgun, chainsaw and SMG, but also beware of The Axeman, a powerful enemy who won’t stop pursuing you.

A brand new faction, the Exiles, is also added and provides significant rewards if you help them. You could also take them by force, continuing the first game’s premise of helping or hurting your fellow survivors.

Developer Skydance Interactive hasn’t revealed what’s next for the series, but it is working on a new VR action RPG called Behemoth. It’s out in Fall 2023 for Meta Quest 2, PlayStation VR2 and PC VR headsets.

This also applies to those who claimed the game for free on PlayStation Plus, as confirmed by the game’s official Twitter account. As for its sequel, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution launches on March 21st for PlayStation VR2 and Steam. Along with the Standard Edition ($39.99) and Payback Edition ($49.99), there’s the Chapter 1 and 2 Deluxe Edition, which includes both games and other bonuses for $59.99.

If you played the game on Meta Quest 2, save data can be transferred over to other platforms (though cross-buy is limited to Meta’s platforms). PlayStation VR2 launches on February 22nd for $549.99. For more details on its launch window titles, head here.

Slated for release in Fall 2023, Behemoth will be coming to PC VR headsets, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest 2. The game will be a single-player experience with an emphasis on its story.

One of Behemoth‘s core features will be its physics engine. According to the studio, the game will allow players to make use of the game’s physics engine for gameplay, with tools like the grappling hook. Players can even use the grappling hook to tear their enemies apart.

Behemoth will feature brutal melee combat, and the studio has stated that smaller aspects like weak points, armour and technique will all matter.

Skydance Interactive is known for its work on The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, which was critically acclaimed when it was released on VR.

Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2 will launch for PS VR2 on March 20, 2023, a month after the next-gen headset’s launch, as confirmed by the publisher to Upload VR. It won’t be available for the original PS VR at the same time though, with Skydance Interactive currently targeting a vague 2023 launch. Meanwhile, on PC, the game will launch for Steam in February.

On PS VR2, multiple editions of the game will be available, as detailed on its PlayStation Store page. The standard edition will include the base game and cost $39.99, while the Payback Edition, which will cost $49.99, will also include several in-game bonuses. There’s also a Chapter 1 and 2 Deluxe Edition, which will include even more in-game bonuses, on top of the full base experience of the original The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. You can the full details below.

The game’s new trailer is a brief one, but shows plenty of interesting glimpses of gameplay, showing several locations, enemy types, and weapons, including dual SMGs, a chainsaw, claws, a grenade launcher, and more.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution is also in the works for PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2. A release date for those versions hasn’t yet ben announced.

In the PlayStation Blog post for The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, Skydance revealed that the VR title would launch for PlayStation VR and Meta Quest 2 this year. However, it also added “and PS VR2 in 2023.” Whether this is a slip-up by the developer which managed to get past any checks, it’s the first official confirmation of PlayStation VR2 launching in June.

For the past several months, it’s been somewhat of an open secret that the HMD would launch in 2023. Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, said that it was coming in Q1 2023. TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that mass production “with about 1.5 million units shipments” would occur in the second half of this year with a possible release in early 2023. Sony has yet to make a formal announcement of the release date so stay tuned in the coming months.

A meaty new gameplay trailer for it was also released, showcasing new locations, enemies, weapons, and more, which you can check out below. Meanwhile, a PlayStation Blog post sheds light on other new details, such as new weapons like a chainsaw, sawed-off shotgun, SMG, and silencers for weapons, as well as new enemies to take on in combat, improved encounters against human foes, larger hordes of Walkers, and more.

All the new and returning maps of New Orleans will also be explorable at night, which, of course, will make them much more dangerous, which, in turn, will make stealth a much more crucial part of the gameplay. Certain items and loot will only be available during nighttime, so there’s a risk-reward element attached.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution will launch for Meta Quest 2 and PSVR later in 2022, and will also launch for PSVR2 at an undetermined date.

Taking place in New Orleans, players once again control the Tourist and attempt to survive while beset by the undead. Combat is briefly showcased in the new trailer and it’s the same mix of melee combat and firearms. As for the Axeman, it’s described as a “towering pursuer” that will stop at nothing to kill you but perhaps there’s a bigger mystery behind its presence.

New locales, quests, and loot are also included along with a new Faction called the Exiles. These individuals aren’t allied with the Tower or the Reclaimed, and seek to offer resources if you help them. Of course, it’s possible to become a Sinner and use force to exploit them. Taking recently to Twitter via the game’s official page, the developer announced The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution. Though there was initially some confusion about whether this would be a sequel or an expansion to the original game, Skydance has since then clarified in multiple tweets that Chapter 2: Retribution is a full-fledged stanalone sequel.

There’s no mention of what platforms the game will release for or when exactly it will launch, and the only thing that’s been shown of it so far is a logo- so clearly, the road to release is going to be a long one. One would assume that this will launch for PC, while PS5 and PSVR2 are also a strong possibility, given the fact that the first game launched for PS4 and PSVR.
