Producer and host Geoff Keighley recently took to Twitter and revealed that The Game Awards 2023 drew in 118 million global livestreams, making it the most watched show in the event’s history. That represents a 15% year-on-year bump from last year’s show, which had over 103 million live viewers.

Keighley also shared several-platform specific numbers, revealing that the YouTube 4K stream for the event 53% year-on-year increase in peak concurrent viewers, topping at over 900,000. That number goes up to 1.7 million concurrent viewers when co-streams are included (across over 4,000 channels), which is a 35% YoY increase.

Outside of YouTube, on Twitch, over 13,680 channels co-streamed the event, up 24% from last year, with peak concurrent audience hitting 1.94 million, which is a 10% YoY increase. In total, across all platforms, over 17,000 channels co-streamed The Game Awards 2023.

The event played host to a number of major showcases, including updates for titles such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Black Myth: Wukong, and announcements of new games like Light No Fire, Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel’s Blade, and revivals for a number of classic Sega franchises.

Where the awards themselves were concerned, Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 was the big winner at the show, winning in six different categories (out of the eight it was nominated in), including Best RPG, Best Performance, Best Multiplayer Game, and Game of the Year.

On @YouTubeGaming the 4K TGA feed delivered a 53% jump in YoY peak concurrently to over 900K. Platform-wide (including co-streams), TGA on YouTube was up 35% to over 1.7M peak concurrent. 4,000 channels co-streamed the show on YouTube.

The Standard Edition retails for $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition will cost $49.99. Along with the base game, the latter includes the Reagent Starter Pack, and both editions receive the Legendary Grizzly Hazmat Outfit as a pre-order bonus.

The Outlast Trials is currently available on PC via Steam Early Access (check out our review here). Unlike its predecessors, it’s a co-op title, with up to four players capable of grouping and completing various experiments conducted by the Murkoff Corporation.

It’s 25 percent off on Steam until December 21st, providing a good entry point before its price increase. Stay tuned for more details on the 1.0 release and update in the coming months.

Promising a living world with “mature storytelling” and “sophisticated player-driven gameplay,” Last Sentinel is 70 years after rising floodwaters from a global warming disaster. Some parts of Tokyo have been submerged and are separated by a wall, making up the old city. Every above sea level is comprised of various futuristic buildings, creating a major divide between the old and new world.

Players control Hiromi Shoda, though her role beyond that of a peacekeeper (though her methods are questionable at best) is unknown. Per VentureBeat, the trailer is pre-rendered and doesn’t show any gameplay, so there should be more to look forward to in the coming months. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates.

Created by the Universal Will, Elphelt was preoccupied with finding a marriage partner. After some things happened, she’s back but maintains her boundless optimism. As part of the band Speothos Venaticus, Elphelt is good at mix-ups with her classic firearms making a return.

While Elphelt is available imminently for Season 3 Pass owners, all players can look forward to a new 3v3 mode, Team of 3, for online play. It’s launching in 2024, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

The trailer showcases some very interesting new mechanics. The mount appears similar to Monster Hunter Rise’s Palamute, with players able to control it freely. The mount runs around, leaps from object to object in the environment and even flies through the air. Combat wasn’t showcased, but there are impressive (and potentially hazardous) weather effects like lightning strikes.

The environmental scale appears much larger than Monster Hunter World, but we’ll have to wait and see if it’s open-world or region-based like previous titles. Also, for those who hate Rathalos, great news: the monster is coming back, as indicated by the tail-end of the trailer. Light No Fire will be set on a planet the size of Earth, with the unique twists of being highly stylized and fantastical, populated by lush and gorgeous environments, all manner of creatures and monsters, and more. The multiplayer title will use procedural generation, implement survival and building mechanics, and be played from a first person perspective, so it certainly shares some of its DNA with No Man’s Sky. Check out its stunning announcement trailer below, which showcases in-engine gameplay footage.

There’s no word on when Light No Fire will announce, or which platforms it’s in development for.

The trailer showcases various things, from Biggs being alive to locations that players visit. Some more Synergy Abilities are showcased, with Tifa swinging Cait Sith like a hammer against enemies. Cid is also revealed for the first time and very much in line with his appearance in the original (though whether he’s playable is unknown).

Marvel Games and Arkane Studios have announced Marvel’s Blade. Developed by Arkane Lyon, the team behind Dishonored 2 and Deathloop, and directed by Dinga Bakaba, who directed the latter, Marvel’s Blade will take players to the city of Paris, where you will play as Marvel’s iconic vampire-slash-vampire hunter.

Marvel’s Blade will be a mature, single player, action-adventure game, and unlike what Arkane usually makes, it’s going to be a third person title. Check out its brief announcement trailer below.

Marvel’s Blade is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. A release date for the title hasn’t yet been announced. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks and months.

Banishers tells the story of Red and Antea, two ghost hunters in love who are sworn to protect the world of the living from the dead, but when Antea dies and returns as a spirit, they find themselves facing the toughest questions of their lives. Will Red let Antea pass on in piece, or will he try to bring her back to life, which will mean violating the oath he is sworn to uphold in every way possible? Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden launches on February 13 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Green Lantern, as you would expect, creates a giant version of himself, wielding a gatling gun with the power of his ring. The Flash, the so-called fastest man alive, seemingly stands in one place and generates tornadoes. Batman is the most interesting, as he utilizes a Fear Toxin-induced bat persona to terrify his enemies.

Wonder Woman appears as the one character not controlled by Brainiac while Superman stands around, smug and menacing. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2nd, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
