After being invaded by its neighboring planet Rena, the Dahnans were forced into slavery for hundreds of years. Tales of Arise has received its share of updates and paid DLC since release, including a collaboration with Sword Art Online which added new boss fight and weapons. It also tied up with Scarlet Nexus and Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream for free cosmetics and weapons. Though it won’t be receiving direct sequel or expansion, producer Yusuke Tomiwaza wants to create “a cutting-edge flagship title that builds on the success of Arise, while also providing an opportunity to rediscover the history of the series.”
