Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise has reached a new sales milestone. The acclaimed action RPG has sold two million copies till date, as per the official Twitter account. Its last significant milestone was in October 2021 when it had crossed 1.5 million units sold.

Featuring a new engine, revamped combat and higher production values, Tales of Arise is set on Dahna. After being invaded by its neighboring planet Rena, the Dahnans were forced into slavery for hundreds of years. The plot focuses on Alphen, an amnesiac Dahnan who feels no pain, and Shionne, a Renan that harms those who touch her, as they embark on a journey of liberation. Tales of Arise has received its share of updates and paid DLC since release, including a collaboration with Sword Art Online which added a new boss fight and weapons. It also tied up with Scarlet Nexus and Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream for free cosmetics and weapons. Though it won’t be receiving a direct sequel or expansion, producer Yusuke Tomiwaza wants to create “a cutting-edge flagship title that builds on the success of Arise, while also providing an opportunity to rediscover the history of the series.”
