Trek to Yomi is Out Now on Nintendo Switch

The action game pays homage to Akira Kurosawa's works with its visuals and presentation. It's also available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Flying Wild Hog’s side-scrolling action title Trek to Yomi is now available on Nintendo Switch. It launched in 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out the launch trailer here to see it in action on the Switch.

Inspired by the aesthetic of Akira Kurosawa’s samurai films, Trek to Yomi is about Hiroki, a swordsman who seeks to protect his town as a promise to his dying master. However, following a tragedy, he seeks to journey “behind life and death” to determine his future. Hiroki starts with a katana, with new techniques and combos learned over time. However, players also get a bow for ranged attacks.

Trek to Yomi lasts about four to six hours, but several difficulty options are available, including a One-Hit Kill Mode for those seeking challenge. Despite its amazing presentation, it received criticism for its wonky combat, lackluster puzzles and ultimately disappointing story. Check out our official review here for more details.
