Nintendo Switch Sales In Japan Outpacing PS4 Sales

That is highly interesting.

Posted By | On 29th, Mar. 2017

The Nintendo Switch is a major success worldwide- so much so that it even seems to be outpacing PS4 sales, at least in Japan. As DualShockers are reporting based on the latest Media Create numbers, the Switch has sold in four weeks as many units as it took the PS4 seven weeks to sell.

As of today, the Switch’s total sales in Japan are over 500,000 units- it reached this milestone in only four weeks since its launch. In contrast, the PS4 took seven weeks to reach this number. A lot of this may ultimately come down to the simple fact that the Switch launched with a hell of a system seller- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, while the PS4 launched with, well, Knack.

Given that the Switch is maintaining its level of sales, and that it has a very major release in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe coming right up, it will be interesting to see how the system continues to perform in the coming weeks.
