Pikmin 3 Mission Mode Showcased

Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrates Pikmin 3’s Mission Mode in this latest video. Mission Mode is a new gameplay type for Pikmin 3 where the player is tasked with bringing as many objects as possible across different levels using a limited number of Pikmin and the player is also under a time limit. In the video, Shigeru Miyamoto picks the first level of the game to showcase how Mission Mode works.

Judging from what I’ve seen I believe that Mission Mode is a fun twist to the Pikmin franchise and will encourage players to come up with different tactics and map exploits in order to obtain the highest high score possible with the given time and limitations.  Pikmin 3 will be coming out later this year on August 6th 2013 for the Wii U.
