VGChartz Posts Preliminary Modern Warfare 2 Sales at 7 Million

Posted By | On 11th, Nov. 2009

That’s right, 7 million. There was no doubt that Modern Warfare 2 was going to sell, but 7 million is absolutely astonishing for day one. To put that into perspective, GTA IV sold around 5.9 million in it’s first week, Halo 3 sold around 3.8 million in its first week. Of course the MW 2 numbers are preliminary counts and there is 10% magrin for error, but even still, that’s just day one. After bold statements earlier this year from Activision saying they expected week one sales to match COD4’s sales to date, it seems they may have been right on the money. Check the figures here and tell us what you think below.
