Forget the good, we’re just looking at the bad and the ugly.
Top 10 lists and shooters are possibly two of the most well trodden clichés in gaming and journalism. They are the two generic bastions of gaming culture that everyone seems to hate, and yet developers and journalists consistently churn them out to an ever-hungry audience.
Rather than lead by example, I’d rather add to the problem by combining the two together. That said, I hate positivity, so a top 10 shooters list is out of the question. Instead let’s talk about those games out there that have really dodgy shooting mechanics. Even if the games themselves are good overall, we have ten examples for you of titles with sub-par gunplay.

1. Deadly Premonition
Deadly Premonition is renowned for its critically divisive reception. I was one of those who really dug it, as you can read in our rather glowing review. Even though the characters and story bowled me over, the gunplay was awful. Mind you, game director SWERY never wanted shooting in the game in the first place, with investors forcing him to include the dodgy combat for the game's western release.
