Max Payne 3
Though it isn’t set to be a PC exclusive, home computers were where Max Payne saw its genesis. It will be good to see the series make a return then, with an older Max, sharper graphics than ever before and, if history is anything to go by, a loyal and highly creative modding community. Let’s just hope that the PC version is handled as well as it was with the previous two Max Payne titles.
Diablo 3
Diablo 3 just kept getting pushed back by Blizzard, and when I say pushed back I’m talking years rather than months. 2012 seems to be the magical year when we will be reacquainted with the seminal loot ’em up franchise once more, and it can’t come any sooner. With over a decade since Diablo 2, number three has a lot to live up to. With its new character classes and improved interface though, I’m sure it will get the job done.
Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm
Though there was an initial outcry over the split campaigns of Starcraft 2 back when the first part released in 2009, the ranters were quickly silenced when they saw how much content there was in Wings of Liberty. With a lot more left to give in terms of both story and the awesome multiplayer the series is renowned for, the Starcraft series is sure to keep attracting fans in 2012 and beyond.
